Oak World

It is said the ancient Druids would not meet unless an oak tree was present and the very words OAK and DRUID, some say, are related. Druids were well known as the “Wise Ones of the Oakwood.” The technical name of the oak is derived from the Celtic “quer” (fine) and “cuez” (tree). “Oak, ash, and thorn,” together are said to be especially magickal. Also it is said it is very unlucky to cut down an oak tree, which were believed to shriek and groan as they fell. A holy tree in many, many cultures, the oak has long been associated with the royalty.
